Let’s face it. Creating is not cheap. And if you are doing multiple things it’s certainly not getting any less expensive. But there are ways to create on a budget.

Multiple Interests

If you are like me and love to do multiple things and also find new things to create all the time, money will become an issue. I have a limited budget and most of us do. I love to shop for my next creative endeavor. What I don’t do a lot is making a list and planning ahead. Also I rarely look at what I already have in the house and what can be repurposed. Thus spending often a lot more than I need to.

.

1. Plan ahead

It just makes sense to do a little planning for your crafts and creations. There are seasonal items that are often on sale around a certain time of year. With a little bit of planning you’ll be able to tap into those sales. Think about back to school sales for items like markers, glue, pencils and erasers.

2. Don’t only buy at craft stores

Think outside of the box and try your home improvement store for things like spray paint, sample size paints, sandpaper and tools like hot glue guns, screwdrivers and maybe even a Dremel. And how about the Dollar Store? There are many things that can be used for creations.

3. Use coupons and email lists

A lot of craft stores have coupons available for signing up for their emails. You can save a lot by using those coupons and incentives. Oftentimes you will be also in the know about the next big sale and can plan ahead.

4. Buy online

There are a lot of craft supplies available through sellers like Amazon. And there are specialized stores for all kinds of supplies. They also often have sales and incentives. It’s worth taking a look.

5. Repurpose or upcycle

A lot of things around the house can be used for crafts or upcycled when they are not looking their best any longer. Think about mason jars, an older vase and wine bottles.
